This webinar provides a case-study of successful naloxone distribution on obstetric and labor and delivery units to reduce peripartum overdose mortality and emphasizes the importance of provider and staff education and partnerships between facilities and community health agencies. Presenters include Jessica Bacon, CNM; Janet Perkins, MD; Jay Naliboff, MD; and Nell Tharpe, CNM, CRNFA, MS, FACNM.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the importance naloxone distribution on birthing units plays in reducing peripartum overdose mortality.
  • Discuss the importance of provider and staff education and how it reduces harm.
  • Identify resources to begin fostering engagement between hospitals and local community health agencies.
