Sharing “The Why”: Turning AIM Data Into Action at Hospital, State, and National Levels

12mar1:00 pm

Event Details

This webinar presented by David Laflamme, PhD, MPH, and Maggie Coleman, MPH from NHPQC at Dartmouth Health will show how AIM data can be used to communicate the “why” behind patient safety work and to direct support where it’s needed most. We’ll clarify how AIM data is intended to be used at the hospital/birthing facility, state/jurisdiction, and national levels—especially how the AIM Data Center complements (but does not replace) facility-level QI tools. The session will include practical visualization examples that help teams quickly interpret signals, prioritize outreach and support, and communicate progress to stakeholders.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the intended purpose and primary users of AIM data at the hospital/birthing facility, state/jurisdiction, and national levels
  • Differentiate what the AIM Data Center is designed to support versus what facility-level QI tools (e.g., local dashboards, REDCap, Tableau) are better suited to do
  • Identify sample AIM visualizations to support action at each level (hospital, state/jurisdiction, national)
